When you take a walk around Broadway Christian Church Community Gardens, maintained in part by refugees and through Garden Work Days coordinated by Refugee and Immigration Services, Catholic Charities, you find yourself walking in fresh soil, breathing in the smell of a beautiful day and letting your mind be at ease. Three years ago, this plot of land was set aside and now serves as a place for Refugee and Immigration Services’ clients to gather, talk and be with family and friends while planting foods and flowers native to their land. Projects like these bring the community together and promote awareness of the work of our community.
Here, you realize what a community effort means and what beauty a community effort such as this can achieve. The gardens have come a long way over the last few years and we encourage you to come and see. They can be found at 2601 West Broadway, Columbia, MO 65203. We welcome and encourage you to get involved in the projects and work our office carries out and we thank the community for supporting us. It is a blessing to be surrounded by such generosity!
Your support of Refugee & Immigration Services, Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri, will help continue projects that live out the mission and work of our faith. Like us on Facebook to keep up with events and news updates in our office. Thank you!
